She uses a multidisciplinary approach incorporating Techniques such as weaving, felt-making, dyeing, papermaking, quilting, black and white film developing, digital photography, print making and machine sewing. Through these mediums Adele is able to address ideas of Irish bog land archaeology, traditional textiles, the earth’s longevity and the passing of time.
For her current work, Adele has been exploring the relationship between garments, the essence of a wearer, the lighting available, natural vegetation, space and projections. These components are captured in the installation of the work.
Adele has experience in facilitating workshops with children and young people, within schools, organisations and community settings. She has conducted demonstrations for adults with learning disabilities within the outreach units of County Tyrone.

My artwork deals with bog land vegetation, this is incorporated into environmental installations and tactile pieces. I am inspired by the archaeological textile discoveries found in bogs all over Ireland, which date from the Iron-age. The bog poems by Seamus Heaney have been an amazing stimuli, elements have been stitched into some of my pieces. I use the process of felt making and layering organic matter within a traditional Irish hooded cloak. History, culture, traditions, poetry and the landscape imbue my work.
